T3 Alaska – Juneau STEAMFEST & T3 Alliance Onboarding

Come join other educators, business partners, and community members to learn about the T3 Alliance’s philosophy for STEM education as solutionaries for community based problems. 

Growth Mindset: You will engage in language that can help your students and colleagues create a safe environment for failure and struggle towards the messiness of finding solutions.

Technology Skills: Using hands-on learning, you will connect with relevant cyber security issues for yourself, your students and your community.

Community Engagement: Stepping through the Stanford’s Design Thinking process, we will use their model to work through the issues that are identified by the group and learn techniques to manage projects in real ways with results.

Adult Participant Objectives:

• Discover the T3 Philosophy of competency-based learning with hands-on projects you will be able to implement in your own classrooms.
• Bring home a set of Raspberry Pi Computers and the knowledge of how to use them with your students.
• Learn how to access the T3 Alliance Canvas courses to support ongoing learning.
• Become part of the 24/7 community in the T3 Discord channel.
• Build processes to utilize your community needs into student projects.

Student Participant Objectives:

• Onboard the next generation of UB/ T3 students (New 9-10th graders only)
• Build relationships with other students and the T3 team in region
• Gain familiarity with T3 alliance principles of growth mindset, tech skills, and community engagement
• Earn badges in Raspberry Pi Computer Coding, Drone Flying, and 3-D Printing
• Prepare students to be active members of their school’s T3 program.
